Volume 2 of the Sorcerer Supreme omnibus continues the long-running 1988–1996 series through some of its most turbulent and creatively ambitious chapters. Roy Thomas and Jean-Marc Lofficier deepen the cosmological mythology of Strange's world — the Vishanti, the Vishanti Wars, the politics of magical dimensions — while Strange himself faces threats that test both his power and his moral convictions. The crossover era of early 1990s Marvel begins to impinge on the series here, but the creative team maintains the book's distinctive identity. For collectors building the complete Sorcerer Supreme omnibus set, Volume 2 is the bridge between the Gillis foundations and the series' later evolution.

Justice League International was the 1987 relaunch that made the League funny: Batman and Green Lantern stuck with Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and a UN charter. Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire made a comedy that still takes the threats seriously, and Maguire's facial expressions are the reason the jokes land. The Blue Beetle and Booster Gold friendship created here has outlived every subsequent reboot, which is unusual for anything that started as a punchline.

The Phoenix Force is the X-Men's most reused idea, and this second omnibus follows what Marvel did with it in the decade after Jean Grey's death on the moon. This is the volume that contains Days of Future Past (#141-142) and the resurrection in Fantastic Four #286 that undid the Dark Phoenix Saga's ending, along with Rachel Summers inheriting the Phoenix and taking it to Excalibur. Return of Wolverine is Charles Soule's five-issue miniseries bringing Logan back from the death established in Soule's own Death of Wolverine: completing the narrative circle of a writer who stewarded the character through both his end and his revival.

The sixth Avengers omnibus covers three years at the book's commercial and creative peak, with Gerry Conway, Jim Shooter and George Pérez. The Korvac Saga is here — Shooter's story about a god who has already won and is simply waiting — and it is one of the two or three best Avengers stories ever published. The Wonder Man and Vision material is also the emotional core: two versions of the same mind, neither willing to concede the other is real.

Avengers: The Crossing is one of Marvel's most ambitious and divisive mid-90s storylines — a complex conspiracy narrative revealing that Iron Man had been a secret agent of Kang the Conqueror for years, manipulating events from inside the team. The storyline required the teenage alternate-universe version of Tony Stark to replace the compromised adult, a desperate editorial solution to the dead-end the Crossing's plot had created. Bob Harras coordinated a crossover that remains historically fascinating for how thoroughly it was reversed in subsequent years.

Wonder Woman by Phil Jimenez Omnibus collects one of Diana's most character-rich modern DC runs in an 856-page oversized hardcover. The volume follows Wonder Woman through Gotham, Washington, Themyscira, family conflict, public responsibility and the wider DC Universe, with Phil Jimenez shaping the book as both writer and defining artist.

Doug Moench's original Moon Knight solo series continued through its second volume with the confidence of a creative team fully in command of its concept. The Bronze Age run maintained its distinctive blend of crime noir, Egyptian mythology, and psychological complexity across its entire run — a consistency rare in superhero comics of any era.

Doug Moench defined Moon Knight for a generation. His 1980s solo series transformed the character from a minor Werewolf by Night supporting player into one of Marvel's most complex figures — a mercenary haunted by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, operating through multiple identities across New York's criminal underworld. Why it's worth reading. Moench's Moon Knight is a masterclass in building a complex superhero identity from scratch.

Punisher MAX by Garth Ennis Omnibus Vol. 2 collects the later half of Ennis's MAX run, including the Barracuda material and closing one-shots, with a much bleaker crime-fiction focus than a conventional superhero book. A hard, adult-readers Punisher volume for collectors completing the Ennis MAX shelf.

Rachel Pollack followed Grant Morrison on Doom Patrol in 1993 and pushed the book somewhere DC had never gone, with a transgender lead and stories about bodies, identity and shame. Pollack was the first openly transgender writer at a major American publisher, and Coagula, a trans woman with powers gained from a sex worker, is the first trans superhero in mainstream comics. The run was largely dismissed at the time and has been reassessed completely since; this is its first collected edition.

Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme ran through the nineties and this second omnibus covers its later years, when the book was at the centre of Marvel's horror line. The Midnight Sons era put Strange in charge of Marvel's supernatural characters — Ghost Rider, Blade, Morbius — and this volume covers that whole experiment. What Is It That Disturbs You, Stephen? is the standout: a Marvel graphic novel by Marc Nadel that reads closer to prose horror than to a comic.

Continuing the Silver Age Supergirl saga, this second volume collects stories from Action Comics #308-376 as Linda Lee Danvers enrols at Stanhope College and juggles her dual identity while facing cosmic threats. Supergirl encounters Lex Luthor's sister Lena Thorul, battles alongside the Legion of Super-Heroes, and considers leaving Earth for a planet of super-powered women. These stories showcase Supergirl coming into her own as a hero independent of Superman.

Larry Hama's Wolverine Vol. 4 represents the first omnibus of his defining run on the character — the period when Hama transformed Wolverine's solo series from Claremont's psychological introspection into a propulsive action-espionage book with a military precision that Hama's Vietnam veteran informed directly. Hama wrote Wolverine for over 90 issues across the 1990s, creating an extended run of consistent quality that rivals any single creative tenure on a Marvel solo title from that era.

Jason Aaron wrote Wolverine for six years across several titles, and this first omnibus covers the solo run where Logan is put through as much punishment as Marvel could invent. Aaron writes Wolverine as a man who cannot die and therefore cannot escape anything, which turns the healing factor from a power into a sentence. The art roster is exceptional throughout, and this volume sets up the Hell arc and Schism that follow.

Armor Wars is the Iron Man story that crystallized what makes Tony Stark different from every other Marvel hero: his technology is his greatest vulnerability. When Stark discovers his armor designs have been stolen and used to create supervillain suits, he goes to war against them all — including heroes wearing government-sanctioned armor — in a morally compromised crusade that ends with serious consequences.

The second Danny Ketch Ghost Rider omnibus continues Howard Mackie's run through the character's most turbulent period — crossovers, revelations about his connection to Johnny Blaze, and the escalation of the supernatural threats that defined 1990s Marvel horror. The Ketch era deepened the Ghost Rider mythology in ways that still inform the character today. Collects Ghost Rider vol. 3 #41 onwards (1,) — the continuation and deepening of Danny Ketch's story.

This 1,384-page omnibus gathers the complete cosmic Silver Surfer saga that built toward Infinity Gauntlet. Jim Starlin and Ron Marz shepherded the Surfer through the late 1980s and early 1990s cosmic revival — a period that reestablished Thanos, introduced Adam Warlock's renewed importance, and created the philosophical framework that Infinity Gauntlet would later detonate. Collects Silver Surfer vol. 3 issues spanning the Infinity Gauntlet prelude and aftermath. 1,An oversized volume of cosmic Marvel.

John Byrne wrote and drew She-Hulk in the late eighties and made her the only Marvel character who knows she is in a comic. Byrne breaks the fourth wall constantly and structurally: She-Hulk argues with the letterer, walks between panels and complains about the plot. It predates Deadpool by years and is funnier, and the run is also a genuine argument about how superhero comics are made.

PRH positions this omnibus around Oliver Queen after death and return, with Brad Meltzer and Phil Hester sending Green Arrow through a story of past, present and future. It is a character road story as much as a superhero collection. This is a strong Green Arrow shelf because it treats resurrection as a beginning rather than a reset. It gives readers the Kevin Smith and Brad Meltzer era in one place, with Oliver Queen's history, doubts and purpose driving the collection.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy were a 31st-century team created in 1969, with nothing in common with the modern line-up beyond the name. This is where Vance Astro, Yondu, Charlie-27 and Martinex come from, and the Avengers issues here are the Korvac Saga chapters featuring them. It is a genuine piece of Marvel history that the films' success made suddenly relevant again, and most of it is otherwise out of print.

The second Excalibur omnibus covers the years after Alan Davis leaves, when the book cycles through creative teams and finally settles into something darker. This is the transitional volume, and it carries the crossover chapters with the main X-Men books that the earlier era avoided. It also collects four specials that have never been reprinted elsewhere, which for a title as scattered as Excalibur is the main reason to buy the omnibus rather than hunt issues.

Marv Wolfman's Fantastic Four run represents the final pre-Byrne era — the creative tenure immediately before John Byrne's major reinvention of the team. Wolfman introduced the Frightful Four's most ambitious membership configuration, developed the Nova connection between his simultaneous run on that character and the FF, and used the team format to explore large-scale cosmic threats that his successor Byrne would later ground in more character-focused directions.

Wolverine & the X-Men followed Schism, with Logan opening a school in Westchester and discovering that running one is harder than fighting. The premise is comedy — the least responsible X-Man as headmaster — and Aaron plays it that way while taking the students seriously. Chris Bachalo and Nick Bradshaw draw it, and the Hellfire Club as a group of murderous twelve-year-olds is the best villain idea of the era.
