Background. Neil Gaiman left Lucifer Morningstar running a piano bar in Los Angeles. Mike Carey picked him up from there and asked the obvious follow-up question: what does the most famous rebel in history do once there is nothing left to rebel against?

What's inside. Vol. 1 collects The Sandman Presents: Lucifer #1-3 and Lucifer #1-35, with art by Peter Gross, Scott Hampton and Chris Weston. Vol. 2 collects Lucifer #36-75, the conclusion, with art by Gross, Ryan Kelly and others.

Why it's worth it. It ran seventy-five issues and is generally considered the best of the Sandman spin-offs, standing entirely on its own for readers who never touched Gaiman's series. The final arc pays off a thread Carey planted seventy issues earlier, which is exactly why the two volumes belong together.
