Description

Background. Neil Gaiman left Lucifer Morningstar running a piano bar in Los Angeles. Mike Carey picked him up from there and asked the obvious follow-up question: what does the most famous rebel in history do once there is nothing left to rebel against?

What's inside. Collects The Sandman Presents: Lucifer #1-3 and Lucifer #1-35, written by Mike Carey with art by Peter Gross, Scott Hampton, Chris Weston and others.

Why it's worth it. It ran seventy-five issues and is generally considered the best of the Sandman spin-offs, standing entirely on its own for readers who never touched Gaiman's series. Carey's Lucifer is cold, courteous and never once bluffing, which makes him far more unsettling than a monster.

Edition details. 1064 pages. US edition published by DC Comics. ISBN 9781401294762.
