Description

Background. Hitman began as a joke spun out of a Bloodlines crossover and became one of DC's great sustained runs. Garth Ennis and John McCrea used a superhero universe as a backdrop for a story about working-class friendship, and made the ending inevitable from the start.

What's inside. Collects the second half of Hitman (1993), continuing from Volume 1, written by Garth Ennis with art by John McCrea, through to the final issue.

Why it's worth it. 'Of Thee I Sing', in which Tommy tells Superman what he actually means to people, is regularly named among the best Superman stories despite appearing in a book about a hitman. The final arc is one of the few superhero endings that genuinely earns its emotion.
