What an omnibus costs in Europe
The average cover price is around 89 euros, but the distribution matters more than the average. Under 60 euros sits about 5% of the line; between 60 and 90 euros, roughly a third; between 90 and 120 euros, close to six in ten, which is the heart of the format; and above 120 euros, barely 1%.

Scarcity: why omnibus sell out
The single most important fact about this market: availability is not permanent. Marvel and DC do not announce print runs, and popular volumes are reprinted — the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 1 is on its fourth printing and beyond. But a title that sells through goes out of print until the next printing comes, and some never return at all when a licence lapses, as happened with Marvel's Dark Tower and much of the older Conan material. While a book is out of print it moves to the secondary market, where out-of-print omnibus routinely list above their original cover price on eBay and AbeBooks. The practical consequence is simple: the copy you passed on only gets more expensive, and you cannot count on a reprint arriving when you want it. Collectors who have been at this a while buy on sight.
Import from the US vs buying in the EU
US retailers often show lower sticker prices, but for a European buyer the real landed cost adds international shipping, import VAT and a flat courier handling fee, plus the risk of damage on long transit. Printed books are free of customs duty in the EU, but the handling fee is charged whatever the book costs. Buying within the EU avoids the paperwork entirely and ships from inside the single market.
