Context. Moon Knight's first solo series, launched in 1980, is where the character truly found his voice. Doug Moench took the mercenary avatar of Khonshu and built around him one of the most distinctive concepts in Bronze Age Marvel — a hero with three identities, a complex moral code, and a visual language unlike any other superhero of the era.

What it contains. Volume 1 of the Moon Knight Omnibus collects the debut solo series from the beginning, presenting Moench's original vision for the character before the Marc Spector renaming. It includes the foundational issues that established Moon Knight's rogues gallery, his crescent dart arsenal, and his relationship with Khonshu.

Why it's worth reading. This is Moon Knight at his most mythologically pure — the Fist of Khonshu operating at the intersection of crime noir and Egyptian mythology.
