Bill Sienkiewicz
Bill Sienkiewicz does not draw comics the way anyone else draws comics. His New Mutants pages — issues 18 to 31 — are collages, paintings, and expressionist fragments assembled into sequences communicating mood rather than clean action. He uses paint, charcoal, torn paper, photographic elements, and raw ink. The Demon Bear Saga feels genuinely unsettling because the form itself breaks: the medium stops behaving the way readers expect. His Elektra: Assassin with Frank Miller followed the same radical logic.
These works are available in omnibus VO and deluxe hardcover formats. The New Mutants omnibus is the essential entry point, containing the Demon Bear Saga pages that remain among the most formally daring work ever published by a major superhero publisher.
