Dazzler was created in 1980 as a joint venture between Marvel and Casablanca Records: a mutant disco singer designed to cross over into music. The label deal collapsed, and the character survived anyway. X-Men #130 is her first appearance and one of the more sought-after issues of the Claremont run.
