The Flash by William Messner-Loebs and Greg LaRocque Omnibus Vol. 1

William Messner-Loebs wrote The Flash for four years after Crisis on Infinite Earths, taking Wally West from Barry Allen's replacement to a character with his own life. Messner-Loebs wrote Wally as broke, insecure and a worse hero than his predecessor, which is the honest version and the one Mark Waid later built on. Greg LaRocque draws most of it. Much of this run has been out of print for decades, which makes the omnibus the only realistic way to read it.

Web of Spider-Man launched in 1985 as the fourth Spider-Man monthly, taking over the numbering slot left by Marvel Team-Up and opening with the black costume turning out to be alive. The first issue is the one where the symbiote tries to bond with Peter permanently, and the Kraven's Last Hunt chapters from Amazing and Spectacular are collected alongside Web's own. That crossover is the best Spider-Man story of the eighties, and having its parts in one place is the main argument for this volume.
