Why it's worth reading. X-Force Vol. 1 is essential 90s comics history. Love it or hate it, Rob Liefeld's aesthetic — the enormous shoulder pads, the pouches, the impossible anatomy, the raw kinetic energy — defined what an entire generation thought superhero comics looked like.
