About this omnibus

PRH describes this as the final volume of Peter David's ever-evolving X-Factor. The book moves from the endgame of the 2005 series into All-New X-Factor, shifting from survival and loss to a new team model with corporate backing. This is the closing shelf for David's long modern X-Factor project. It is useful for readers who want the run's full shape: investigation, trauma, team collapse and reinvention rather than a simple superhero squad status quo.

The finale of Peter David's X-Factor Investigations. Hell on Earth War, cosmic threats, personal revelations. Years of storylines resolved with humor, heart and genre-defying twists. One of the most satisfying runs in X-Men history.

X-Factor by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 1

X-Factor by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 1

The first X-Factor omnibus by Peter David covers his original run on the government-sponsored team, the one that turned a book about mutant celebrities into a comedy about therapy. Issue #87 is the famous one: a full issue of the team in mandatory psychiatric evaluation, one character at a time, which is still cited as one of the best single issues Marvel has published. David writes Multiple Man, Strong Guy and Quicksilver as people with jobs and problems, and the run is much funnier than its premise suggests.

X-Factor by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 2

X-Factor by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 2

Peter David relaunched X-Factor in 2005 as a detective agency staffed by mutants nobody else wanted, working in Mutant Town after House of M cut the population to a few hundred. The Madrox miniseries that opens the volume is a straight noir, and it sets the register: this is a book about people whose powers make ordinary life harder. Layla Miller — 'I'm Layla Miller, I know stuff' — gets her actual explanation here, and David writes Jamie Madrox's duplicates as a genuine identity problem rather than a gimmick.

X-Factor by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 3

The third X-Factor omnibus covers the run's final years, when Peter David abandoned the detective format for something closer to a supernatural serial. The renumbering to #200 marks the shift: demons, Hela, a pregnancy with cosmic implications, and Rahne Sinclair's storyline, which is the bleakest thing in the run. David had been writing these characters for the better part of a decade by this point, and the ending he gives Jamie Madrox pays off material planted in the first volume.

More from Peter David

Peter David omnibus editions are driven by voice, psychology and long continuity, especially Hulk, X-Factor, Spider-Man-adjacent Marvel and character repair.

Young Justice Omnibus Vol. 1-2

Young Justice Omnibus Vol. 1-2

Young Justice, collected as a pack of 2 oversized omnibus volumes and cheaper than buying them one by one. Young Justice Omnibus Vol. 1 collects Peter David and Todd Nauck's run, in which Robin, Superboy and Impulse form a team with no adult supervision and considerably less competence than the Teen Titans. It is the funniest sustained superhero book DC published in the late nineties, and the direct source of the animated series. Young Justice Omnibus Vol. 2 continues Peter David's run through its later, darker stretch, as the team gains members, loses its innocence and heads towards the events that would fold them into the Teen Titans. The comedy stays, but the stakes stop being theoretical.

Superman: Our Worlds at War Omnibus Vol. 1-2

Superman: Our Worlds at War, collected as a pack of 2 oversized omnibus volumes and cheaper than buying them one by one. Superman: Our Worlds at War Omnibus Vol. 1 throws Superman and the wider DC universe into a conflict big enough to feel like a real planetary crisis. Joe Kelly, Doug Mahnke and the Superman line use cosmic scale to test Clark's role as protector when the threat is not just a villain, but war itself. Superman: Our Worlds at War Omnibus Vol. 2 focuses on DC's war-scale Superman event, with Superman shaped by cosmic conflict, grief, heroism under pressure and the cost paid by people around Superman. The appeal is not only continuity; it is watching a specific DC period find its tone, cast and visual rhythm.

Symbiote Spider-Man by Peter David Omnibus

Symbiote Spider-Man by Peter David Omnibus

Peter David returns to the black-suit era with the fun question every symbiote reader asks: what else happened before Peter understood what the costume really was? This omnibus fills that dangerous gap with Mysterio, Hobgoblin, Doctor Strange, Kang, Knull, Hulk, Black Cat trouble and even a 2099 detour for Miguel O'Hara. It is Spider-Man symbiote material with modern pace, old-school continuity hooks and a direct road toward Venom mythology.

Incredible Hulk by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 1

Incredible Hulk by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 1

Peter David wrote the Hulk for twelve years, longer than any other writer, and this first omnibus is where he starts turning a monster comic into a book about dissociation. David's first move is to bring back the grey Hulk as a Las Vegas enforcer with Banner's cunning and none of his restraint, which is the version most readers had never seen. This volume also contains his complete early collaboration with Todd McFarlane, drawn right before McFarlane went to Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus Vol. 2

Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus Vol. 2

Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus Vol. 2 collects Peter David's modern return to Miguel O'Hara. Where Vol. 1 was the cyberpunk future, this volume strands the Spider-Man of 2099 in the present day — arriving just as Alchemax, the corporation that will corrupt his future, is being founded, and giving him a chance to change history before it happens. His plan is derailed by the multiversal war of Spider-Verse, and his eventual return home lands him in a 2099 seized by the Maestro. Drawn mainly by Will Sliney, it's a complete, self-contained era of the character now famous from Across the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus Vol. 1

Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus Vol. 1 throws Peter David and Rick Leonardi's future Spider-Man into a neon Marvel dystopia where corporations, identity and violence have replaced the familiar New York street-level rhythm. Miguel O'Hara is not Peter Parker in a new costume; he is a different kind of Spider-Man, born from a harsher future and forced to turn survival into responsibility.

Hulk: Maestro by Peter David Omnibus

Hulk: Maestro by Peter David Omnibus

Hulk: Maestro by Peter David Omnibus gathers three decades of the Hulk's darkest what-if. The Maestro is a future Bruce Banner who kept the Hulk's raw power and his own intelligence but lost the conscience that held the monster back. It begins with Future Imperfect (1992), Peter David and George Perez's landmark story where the present-day Hulk is thrown a century forward to face the tyrant he could become, and closes with the modern origin trilogy — Maestro, War and Pax and World War M — that shows exactly how he crossed that line. A complete study of a hero fully embracing villainy.

Description

Background. PRH describes this as the final volume of Peter David's ever-evolving X-Factor. The book moves from the endgame of the 2005 series into All-New X-Factor, shifting from survival and loss to a new team model with corporate backing.

What's inside. The official listing collects X-Factor (2005) #233-262, All-New X-Factor #1-20 and X-Men Legends #5-6. PRH highlights the few remaining X-Factor members making a last effort when hell comes to Earth, the end of one era, and Polaris leading a later All-New X-Factor group.

Why it matters. This is the closing shelf for David's long modern X-Factor project. It is useful for readers who want the run's full shape: investigation, trauma, team collapse and reinvention rather than a simple superhero squad status quo.
