Paul Pope is an alternative cartoonist whose ink-heavy, kinetic style bridges American comics and a manga sensibility. His Batman: Year 100 imagined a future Gotham where Batman is an urban legend hunted by a surveillance state, one of the most visually distinctive Batman stories ever put on paper. His creator-owned THB, 100% and Heavy Liquid cemented his cult reputation as a true comics auteur.
