Before Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel, she was Ms. Marvel — and her origin is one of the most significant in Marvel history. Gerry Conway wrote the character's debut series, establishing the framework of a hero who would eventually become one of Marvel's most important figures after decades of evolution.
