Writers

Dave Gibbons

Gibbons drew Watchmen, and the nine-panel grid he and Alan Moore built there is still the most studied formal device in comics. He also writes, and his World's Finest with Steve Rude is a warm, classical Superman/Batman story.

Infinite Crisis Omnibus

Infinite Crisis Omnibus

Infinite Crisis was DC's 2005 event and the twenty-year sequel to Crisis on Infinite Earths, built to fix a universe the company had let get too dark. The four lead-in miniseries are the reason to own it collected: the event only makes sense if you have seen Batman build the OMACs, Wonder Woman kill on camera and Superman refuse to intervene. It is also the moment DC brought back the multiverse it had spent two decades insisting was gone.

World's Finest: The Deluxe Edition (2026 Edition)

World's Finest: The Deluxe Edition collects Dave Gibbons and Steve Rude's prestige miniseries, in which Superman and Batman swap cities and discover how badly each one's methods fit the other's problems. Rude draws it in a warm, classical register that makes it feel like the best version of a Silver Age team-up.
