Description

Background. Rom launched in 1979 to promote a Parker Brothers electronic toy, but Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema built something far larger. A cyborg knight from the planet Galador arrives on Earth hunting the Dire Wraiths, shapeshifting alien sorcerers who have quietly infiltrated humanity. Because Rom vaporizes Wraiths disguised as ordinary people, everyone but a handful of allies sees him as the monster, and his war becomes one of Marvel's most heartfelt cult sagas.

What's inside. Collects Rom (1979) #1-29 and Power Man and Iron Fist #73. The run introduces Brandy Clark, ties the Wraith war into S.H.I.E.L.D. and brings in guest stars from across the Marvel Universe, including the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange. Written by Bill Mantlo with interior art by Sal Buscema throughout and Greg LaRocque, plus Frank Miller's original first-issue cover.
