About this omnibus

The Invisibles Omnibus collects Grant Morrison's entire countercultural conspiracy epic in one volume: a cell of anarchist agents fighting a secret war against the forces that manufacture consensus reality. Magic, time travel, pop philosophy and 1990s paranoia, running for nearly sixty issues and reportedly a direct influence on The Matrix.

Description

Background. The Invisibles is Morrison writing without a safety net. King Mob, Lord Fanny, Boy, Ragged Robin and a Liverpool teenager called Dane recruit against an occult establishment, and Morrison used their own life as raw material to a degree that became notorious.

What's inside. Collects the complete series — all three volumes of The Invisibles — with art by Steve Yeowell, Jill Thompson, Phil Jimenez, Chris Weston and many others, in a single 1,500-page hardcover.

Why it's worth it. It is the most influential Vertigo series after Sandman and Preacher, and the only edition that puts the whole run in one place. Demanding and deliberately disorienting, but it rewards the effort and has aged into something closer to prophecy than pastiche.

Edition details. 1536 pages. US edition published by DC Comics. ISBN 9781401234591.
