Background. Posehn and Duggan took over Deadpool in 2012 for the Marvel NOW! relaunch with a premise that announced their tonal approach immediately: S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits Deadpool to fight zombie versions of former US presidents because the Avengers can't be seen punching George Washington. Beneath the absurdist humor, the duo built a sustained character study that over several years delivered the most emotionally complex Deadpool material since Kelly — including a revelatory look at Wade Wilson's past that recontextualized everything.

What's inside. This omnibus collects the complete Posehn/Duggan Deadpool run starting with the Dead Presidents opening arc, through the Original Sin tie-in that revealed crucial elements of Deadpool's history, the AXIS and AXIS: Deadpool tie-in material, and the major storylines including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (featuring a morally devastating Captain America and Wolverine team-up), and the Wedding of Deadpool issue. Why it's worth it. This is the most complete Deadpool run in terms of balancing comedy and character depth since Kelly's foundational work.
