New Mutants
The New Mutants debuted in 1982 as the first official X-Men spin-off, created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. The team brought together young mutants like Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Magik, Sunspot, and Dani Moonstar, trained by Professor Xavier at the School for Gifted Youngsters.
The series explored themes of adolescence, identity, and responsibility with a more intimate tone than the main X-Men book. Under the later direction of Louise Simonson and the revolutionary art of Bill Sienkiewicz, the title reached extraordinary artistic heights, especially in the Demon Bear saga and the arrival of Cable, who would transform the team into X-Force.
