Volume 1 of the Captain Mar-Vell Omnibus collects the character's earliest appearances and solo series, presenting the formative stories by Stan Lee and Roy Thomas that established Mar-Vell's dual identity, his conflict between Kree duty and human loyalty, and his early relationships with Rick Jones and the Supreme Intelligence.

Why it's worth reading. Mar-Vell is the foundation of everything Captain Marvel.
