Why it's worth reading. Whedon writes Kitty Pryde the way she was always meant to be written — the heart of the book, the character whose courage defines what X-Men heroism means. Cassaday's pages are among the most carefully composed superhero art of the 2000s: wide-angle establishing shots, intimate character moments, explosive action sequences, all with an almost cinematic attention to pacing. This is the most accessible and re-readable X-Men run of the era.
