Phil Noto's art looks like nothing else on the shelf. He paints digitally with a soft, cinematic finish — muted palettes, expressive faces, clean staging — that stays calm and grown-up even in an action story. In large omnibus format, that restraint pays off: his pages breathe and his acting carries the story.

He made his name on Black Widow with Nathan Edmondson, a lean spy thriller that became a modern benchmark for the character, as well as on his Thunderbolts work from the Marvel NOW! era. He also became one of the lead artists on Marvel's Star Wars line — Poe Dameron, Chewbacca, Star-Lord — and a highly sought-after cover artist.
