Loki: God of Stories Omnibus

Loki: God of Stories Omnibus

Al Ewing's Loki: Agent of Asgard and the surrounding material represent one of the most ambitious character studies Marvel has produced in recent decades. Taking the young Loki established by Kieron Gillen, Ewing asks a deceptively simple question: can a god of lies become someone different? The answer unfolds across some of the most formally inventive Marvel comics of its era. It includes the Secret Wars tie-in material that concludes Ewing's arc.

Doctor Strange by Jed MacKay Omnibus

Doctor Strange by Jed MacKay Omnibus

Jed MacKay's Doctor Strange run opens by killing him: the Sorcerer Supreme is murdered in the first issue and has to solve his own death. Strange (2022) is the best part: Clea Strange takes the title and the job, and MacKay writes her as someone ruling by force where her husband ruled by knowledge. The later Doctor Strange run then reunites them, and the marriage is written as a genuine partnership between two very different kinds of magician.
