Spider-Woman
Spider-Woman debuted in 1977 as Jessica Drew, a heroine with spider powers entirely independent of Spider-Man. Originally created to secure trademark rights, Jessica quickly evolved into a fascinating character with her own mythology: a childhood on Wundagore Mountain, HYDRA training, and subsequent work as a SHIELD agent.
Her original 50-issue series established her as a heroine with her own identity, but it was Brian Michael Bendis who catapulted her to the forefront in the 2000s, making her a central piece of New Avengers and Secret Invasion. The revelation that a Skrull had replaced Jessica for years was one of Marvel Comics' most shocking twists.
The Spider-Woman omnibus editions collect her adventures in premium USA hardcover format, from her classic 1970s series through her modern resurgence with Bendis and subsequent series. Essential volumes capturing the evolution of a unique heroine in the Marvel pantheon.
