Description
Editorial context. Daredevil by Ed Brubaker Omnibus Vol. 1 begins at the worst possible moment for Matt Murdock: exposed, imprisoned and surrounded by enemies who know exactly how much his identity can hurt him. Brubaker continues the damage of the Bendis era but shifts the rhythm toward prison noir and criminal consequence.
What this edition gives you. The opening Brubaker/Lark stretch follows Matt behind bars, the pressure around his public identity, the machinery of Kingpin's world and the return of fear as a weapon in Hell's Kitchen. Michael Lark's storytelling makes the city feel bruised, narrow and dangerous.
Why it matters. This is one of Marvel's strongest modern handoffs. It respects what came before, then asks whether Daredevil can survive when the law, the press, prison and his enemies all understand the same weakness.
