Iron Man —Tony Stark— is the billionaire genius created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby in 1963. From the classic ‘Demon in a Bottle’ storyline, in which David Michelinie and Bob Layton explored his alcoholism, to Warren Ellis’s ‘Extremis’, via ‘Civil War’, the character has been a reflection of Marvel’s capitalism.
