Dazzler
Dazzler debuted in 1980 as an ambitious Marvel multimedia project: a mutant singer who converted sound vibrations into light and energy. Alison Blaire, her civilian identity, embodied the late-70s disco culture and became one of the publisher's most original heroines.
Although initially conceived as a commercial product tied to disco music, Dazzler transcended her origins with a 42-issue solo series and a graphic novel. Her later incorporation into the X-Men gave her a more complex role, participating in sagas like the Morlocks and proving her power was far more versatile than it appeared.
