Description
Background. Krakoa has solved resurrection. Death is no longer permanent for mutants. But if you can't die, what does faith mean? What does community mean? What does it mean to grieve? Kurt Wagner — Nightcrawler, the X-Men's most devout Christian — realizes that the mutant nation has everything except a soul. He sets out to build one. Si Spurrier's Way of X is the most philosophically ambitious book of the Krakoa era.
What's inside. Way of X #1–6 plus Legion of X #1–10, Spurrier's complete Nightcrawler-centred Krakoa story. Includes the introduction of Weaponless Zsen, the Krakoan faith cult storylines, and the philosophical framework Spurrier built for understanding what immortality means for a community. ISBN 978-1-302-96993-6.
Why it's worth reading. Spurrier asks questions that most superhero comics don't dare: if you can be resurrected, does death lose meaning? If a community is built on shared trauma, what replaces that cohesion when the trauma is removed? And specifically: what does it mean to be Nightcrawler — a man of deep faith — in a world where death has been defeated? The answers are thoughtful, surprising and genuinely moving. The best single-character book of the Krakoa era.
