Ted McKeever
Ted McKeever is an American writer-artist whose style is jagged urban expressionism: distorted anatomy, harsh angular inks and grimy, decaying cityscapes that feel closer to German Expressionist film than to mainstream comics. His work is uncompromising and personal, built to unsettle rather than to reassure.
As a complete author he created Eddy Current, Metropol, Plastic Forks, Industrial Gothic and Meta 4, cult independent works gathered in collected editions and the career-spanning McKeever library. He also brought that harsh sensibility to short mainstream stints, but his creator-owned catalog is where his singular vision runs unfiltered.

For a collector, a McKeever collection is a deep-cut buy for readers who want challenging, art-driven independent comics rather than superhero comfort food. His editions preserve some of the boldest alternative work of the late 1980s and 1990s, and the large format is the right way to sit with his dense, punishing pages.
