Joe Sinnott
Joe Sinnott is the most celebrated inker in Marvel history. Inking is often invisible work, but Sinnott's was transformative: his confident, polished finishes over Jack Kirby's pencils gave the 1960s–70s Fantastic Four their crisp, powerful, definitive look — the polish that became Marvel's house style for a whole generation.
His decades-long run on the Fantastic Four, over Kirby and then John Romita Sr. and John Buscema, is the work he's remembered for; in omnibus form, the reproduction finally does that craftsmanship justice. His contribution to the look of classic Marvel is impossible to overstate.
