J. Bone

J. Bone is a Canadian artist and inker whose style is rooted in classic animation: bold clean lines, rounded confident shapes and a bright, retro sense of design. Whether penciling or inking, he brings warmth and clarity, a look tailor-made for pulp adventure and all-ages superhero fun rather than gritty realism.

His best-known work is his partnership with Darwyn Cooke, inking the Eisner-winning Batman/The Spirit one-shot and the celebrated Spirit ongoing, material collected in Spirit hardcovers. He also drew Rocketeer: Hollywood Horror and Rocketeer at War for IDW, extending that clean, heroic, mid-century-flavored aesthetic across pulp revivals.
